Well it has finally come around, my last day at work.

Time to return the laptop transfer the phone back to my name and remove the company email address from all electronic devices.

What will I do. I guess the first thing is to have a bit of a chill out break and make some lists on how to survive on 25% of your previous salary.

Work out which of the 5 pages of jobs swmbo has written are really essential and then write my own to do.

Strangely the thing that scares me most is how I will cope with the lack of demand that work put on me. I will probably ring the work help line 20 times in the first week asking why I am not receiving any emails.

The advice I have is that I will be very busy for a while and then its into the caravan and off around Australia.

Congratulations, give it 2 months and you will be so busy you won't know how you used to fit work in. Have fun, chill out frequently and get rid of the lists asap.

Well done. I moved to a 3 day week 1/1/17. Have built up credit so I can now take 3 weeks to drive route 66.

Congratulations. The feeling you get that first morning when you wake up and realise you can do whatever you want is terrific ... and the best thing is you get it every morning!

Congratulations.

Your biggest problem will be that everyone will assume you have time on your hands and come up with things for you to do.

It won't be long and you will be wondering how you ever found time to do everything while you were working. This is why every retired man needs a shed smile

I certainly echo deano on that, two years plus down the line.
However, I'd give it six to twelve months before you cannot move for the all alternatives to work you are into, which of course includes more mogging.
