Hello Mr(?) API,
My ARP4 has just been registered this week in advance of the tax changes that come into force in the UK on 1st April but due to pressures of travel for work I won't be able to pick it up until the middle of April. Grrrr! It was a new car that was apparently purchased by a customer but I am told that due to ill-health he was unable to take delivery. Hence it came back onto the market as a 'new' unregistered car. From the VIN it looks like one of the later production vehicles.
I have had a good test drive in it and had a couple of drives in other ARP4s so hope/think I know what I am letting myself in for. Furthermore, I have read the past comments in TM (positive and negative) but know we all have our own taste and priorities in vehicles. Certainly I don't mind a few rpm! Different things that push our buttons as it were. After many years involved in vehicle development and engineering in the car world I can say I really enjoy a revvy NA engine.
Pictures and comments to follow next month after I have picked the car up.
Thanks for the various welcome messages. TM seems like a nice place!
Hello friend,
I thank you for your answer, so your car is one of the 50 produced.
Please could you pick up the body number of your car?
I explain to you: When manufacturing a vehicle, the manufacturer assigns a manufacturing number that will be stamped on all parts and that will follow the vehicle for the duration of its construction.
When the car is finished, the manufacturer assigns an identification number that is struck on the chassis and will be found later on the tittle.
All parts that will be used for manufacturing will be identified by this body number and will be present and visible on certain parts such as the engine bonnet (inside the right bonnet, on the hinge) or the scuttle.
