Set out below is text of an email from my dealer (RTCC) in response to one from me asking whether what I had read on TM was correct about there being a delay in the building of EU-spec M3Ws. Thought others might like to see this. So frustrating.

Good morning Shaun

Thank you for your email.

The TalkMorgan posts are unfortunately correct - albeit somewhat annoying that they get access to this information before the dealers!

The euro-4 compliance issue has effected all European build slot dates. Currently Morgan are only building U.S spec cars which don't have to meet this new legislation. Once the European cars have passed the new euro-4 compliance tests Morgan plan to catch back the lost production time by ceasing production of cars for other markets and build only UK cars.

I spoke to Morgan this morning just to be 100% sure of my facts and they have told me that UK car will be built to the revise timescale shown below.
Your car was originally schedule for week 29 (wk commencing 17th July 17) but has been revised to week 36 (wk commencing 4th September 17)
I'm really sorry for the delay Shaun and now Morgan have a clearer picture of timescales I can keep you advised as this progresses.

If you have any questions or queries please call or email me but in the meantime thank you for your patience.

As frustrating a situation as it is. Be worth it in the end. One thing I learnt with owning a 3W was patience. Granted that was after I part exchanged it...

With Trumps newest environmental de-regs we could burn wood in our M3Ws. So nice to have China become #1 on this issue.

Thank, Peter. This will (eventually....) be my second M3W, having had to sell my first when I moved to Hong Kong three years ago, so I am very familiar with the frustrations (and joys) of M3W ownership! ☹️😊

a 7-week delay is frustrating - what is more so is that Morgan didn't seem to be too forthcoming with the issue, or be able to anticipate it earlier, as I can't imagine the new EU regs were a last minute surprise to S&S.

My car was "originally" scheduled for week 9 when I ordered it in October, got moved up to week 7 because of the non-EU build priority starting in January, and was finally completed and ready to ship last week, which was week 14 I believe. So the real challenge is trying to determine "Morgan time" which doesn't seem to correspond with any calendar known to the outside world :-)

Part of the charm, yes - I know...

As long as they do not charge another £1000,- for the additional time of the prolonged production process you should be happy. evil
I learned MMC charges £1000,- for changes of the spec. (Is production timing a contract issue?)

Customer satisfaction? innocent
