I hope you aren't one of those annoying people who believe the speed limit on single carriageway roads is 50mph ..... If you look carefully the 50 sign is visible as the road reduces to one lane.

Recently I was at a family gathering where 5 out of 6 people round the table thought the limit was 50 so it has become a bit of a pet subject of mine . Hugh]

Regardless of the rules (but respecting them) thats rubbish road skills by both parties.
If I am in the Mog I would have paid a darn site more attention before pulling out onto that type of road with all those people around. You don't want to go squishing any people.
If I am the Pug and see that ahead of me I lift and scan for risk like a bandit.
Both drivers should have read that situation.
Mind you one was in an Audi.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Wow!
Typically it's Mustangs leaving these events which lose control and go barreling into pedestrians. You can check out many many videos on YouTube of this....

I drive that stretch of road twice day.
Its a double lane highway down a long straight hill, with fantastic visibility of the road ahead including the White Lion.
It has a speed limit of 50mph all the way along it. At the White Lion it narrows to a single lane.
In the five years I've been driving it, I have never seen a car pull straight out across the flow of traffic.
The Morgan driver is a moron and should be done for dangerous driving.

The other car was doing well over and it would have been signed as a junction to slow down and there were people on the road side which would have made drivers more cautious ..but not that one ! Ok Mog driver was at fault but so was on coming driver. Quite normal for cars to pull out of junctions these days knowing people have to slow or they will slam into car in front .

Poor judgement by that Mog driver to say the least. Lucky to get away with the impact. Surely he could see the other car approaching at it's speed? Was the other driver at fault? Only if he was distracted and missed the Morgan initially. Should he have thought about the Mog coming out? Maybe. Trouble is that means very cautious driving to cater for idiots. You can't always predict other drivers.

Having once been the approaching car to a similar junction, when someone pulled across, I'm not sure about some of the negative comments about the Peugeot driver. Hard to judge his approach speed and if he was far to fast, then of course that would have contributed. But if you imagine it happening to you, as the Peugeot driver, and counting the seconds to the impact, it's just a couple of seconds. I hit the side of a car, big impact, some effort to get me out of the car and a few injuries. But, to this day, I remember seeing the car come into my lane and thinking "sh*t, I'm not going to be able to stop in time"
The Morgan driver was showing off and it was his responsibility to check his route was clear and safe. Stupid and dangerous.
