Interesting how the Morgan trad has a nice little ramp on the rear - almost as if this kind of incident was expected! Another reason why the four seater is better then!

So what have we learnt from this public information video
1. It's hard to tell a Audi from a Peugeot or from any other small hatchback at 80 yards
2. Peeping your horn doesn't apply your brakes or swerve to avoid a collision
3. Turning right across a two lane dual carriageway with a central reservation involves actually looking
4. The rear end of a trad Morgan makes a very good take off ramp for wouldbe stunt bike riders or skateboarders
5. The acceleration of a 4/4 is slower than a hatchback traveling at ... er .. er ... quite fast... that may or may not be faster than the appropriate speed or the speed limit
6. If you are going to stop after an accident make sure you don't pull over in behind a large road sign in front of someone videoing it as it might make people think you've fled the scene

Accidents happen when a series of events put two objects in the same space and time. Both drivers could have avoided this. Until the Morgan crossed the central reservation, the Morgan driver controlled the outcome. Once across the central reservation, the oncoming tin top of whatever persuasion controlled the outcome. I suspect that the driver of the tin top was so focused on sounding the horn that they didn't have the opportunity to swerve, or maybe even brake. Sounding the horn (instead of taking avoiding action) probably contributed to the collision. Lets face it, holding the horn on, while braking hard and swerving in two or three seconds is a tough ask.
