So now that the US bound bugeye M3W's have started shipping to the States, I'm wondering if anyone has received one and had the ugly headlights put back to the original position yet? How easy was it to do it and does it look exactly like they are supposed to look from the factory? Were you able to easily remove the new bar that the headlights sit on that goes in front of the V-twin? Can you post before and after pictures? Thanks!

Not owning one as of yet, I plan on switching the headlights back to the original position. I don't know though that I'd remove the front bar, considering how much that could lend itself to strengthening the chassis. And there do seem to be a fair number of complaints about chassis flex due to there not being a front brace.
That and it just seems like it provides a spot to mount aux lights as well.
From what I've gathered, and I know someone else on here has swapped them back, or is planning on it. I forget who off the top of my head, but they said that morgan will still provide the original brackets, though it'll be at a cost for those of us ordering after the new headlight arrangement was put in effect. The brackets mount to existing points already just require longer bolts, which it sounded like Morgan also provided. I think the only thing to work out would be the wiring to them.
So hopefully someone who has done so chimes in shortly. It would be great to see a tutorial on this. If not I plan on videoing one and putting it up on youtube. That's still a year and change away for me though so you'll definitely beat me to it.

If it really was a chassis brace then Morgan woild be fitting it to all cars. My dealer says the old brackets are easily ordered and the headlights are easily moved back.

My "bugeye" has been built and invoiced, but apparently Morgan is keeping it a state secret from me and the dealer on it's shipment status. Can't believe it - 2 weeks after it's "done" and nobody will fess-up to where it is... Ah well, the wait continues as I busy myself with the purge-a-thon needed to make some reasonable space for it when it does eventually get here, have it's headlights put back to the proper place, and find it's way to it's new home.

Read my "Kirk and Beth" thread sometime! Morgan said mine was done on July 22 and that they wanted full payment, then the factory was closed for a bank holiday and somebody who works at the factory went back used his keys to get in and found out that my frame was in one corner of the body was in another corner and my car was nowhere near being completed. I know it's hard to hear, & I wasn't very happy to hear it myself when it was my turn, but be patient and it will all be worth it in the end. Mine was delivered October 7th by air.

Wow, you guys sure like to go on tangents! By the first response we are already on a different topic. All I wanted to know was from someone who had already received a bugeye M3W that had already reverted it back to normal.

My "bugeye" and three others cleared US Customs yesterday. Hopefully, I'll take delivery next week and will report back on the cosmetic surgery.

If they're not fitting the us configuration headlights I can see it being left off. A lot of the gripe is also people talking about the bar hiding the motor. Not saying that was the designed function for it but based on where it appears to tie in near the upper suspension mounting points it seems it would have a bracing effect. Hopefully someone in here takes some nice close ups when they get one.
