Hopefully she wont do as well as she hopes and resigns as a result Very open statement! Who would you like to see as PM and the party in power. Fence sitting not an attractive quality. For me she and the Tories will be the best outcome. Hopefully with a big majority. Apart from giving her a mandate to deliver the "Will of the People" (as an aside I voted Remain), it will also stick it to "The Sturgeon" ! Look into the financial dealings of her and her husband and perhaps you might agree almost anybody would be a better bet. Are they both corrupt ? I haven't seen anything about this , maybe I've missed it ?

It's a new one on me too.
I recall that there were some allegations when she was home secretary that her husband was a director and major shareholder of G4S. These proved to be totally false. I've never heard of any other corruption theories.

Has anybody noticed the weather? Sitting in the Morgan in town or slow traffic I'm boiling like a lobster. Go over 30mph and it's freezing cold!
As for the election; I normally live, breathe and sleep politics. It's the stuff of life. So why am I so ambivalent about this one?

[quote=Alistair Aaaargh. My eyes. That is a Zimmer is it not ? The car that makes an Excalibur SSK look like the last word in good taste and refinement. Giles, I'm glad you recognised it, I thought it could be a "Clenet". A chap I know shipped one over from Florida and it's o.k. really ( dammed with faint praise ) Anyone who thinks the Aero Coupé looks anything like that should get straight down to specsavers, pronto !! Hope she gets back in with an increased majority and shuts up fish face from Scotland. Perhaps that's to much to ask nothing will shut her up. Get on with leaving the E.U. the sooner the better.

That was a complete surprise, a General Election on top of our local elections and a constant stream of Brexit woes. What is going on, none of our MP's of any party have any guts to stand up and complete on their promises to us the people. Like many others I am sick and tired of the whole lot of them however, as Madmax said quite correctly, we all must do our bit after all, people have died to give us the right to have our voices heard, and just for the sake of honesty, I voted to remain as I am a European living in the best country in the world.

In a rather ironic twist to the whole Brexit thing: The EU has 24 official languages, of which three (English, French and German) have the higher status of "procedural" languages of the European Commission
....snip
The EU asserts that it is in favour of linguistic diversity. This principle is enshrined in the EU Charter (art. 22) and in the Treaty on European Union (art. 3(3) TEU).
....snip
The most widely spoken language in the EU is English, which is understood by 51% of all adults, while German is the most widely used mother tongue, spoken by 18%. All 24 official languages of the EU are accepted as working languages, but in practice only two – English and French – are in wide general use and of these English is the more commonly used.

"Constant stream of brexit woes"? I know I live in a world of my own but I haven't heard this constant steam.

Sorry thread drift. Just thought it might be more interesting than politics. You are right Madmax but at the end of the day the more I see of it the less I respect it. So I have been reflecting on this. I am not certain if it is the content free coverage in the press or lack of deliverables from the politicians that annoys me more. In the same manner that the Brexit coverage provided little or no education, discovery or value to me I fear the forthcoming election will do the same. The core press seems to have been hollowed out and just enjoys retweeting youtube clips. If you ever followed Mark Austin (ITV News Presenter) he recently retired as he felt he could no longer present news. However given the sad state of politics that got us in this position I have also lost respect for them. I just want to go back to Como.
