Like many others tinkering is not a choice. My closest dealer is two hours away. This car demands constant fiddling and tightening and walk-a-rounds to make sure all the parts are still on.

I keep a generous bag of tools in the boot as well as Loctite, rags and cleaners.

At this point I have no intention to sell. This may come up in the future but I don't sweat the small stuff like keeping receipts for every little thing and copious records. As for Return On Investment I bought this thing to drive it into the ground. This car with over 32,000 miles is starting to show its use. In the meantime every time I drive is like therapy and grin inducing fun! That's my ROI!

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

Good to know that my car is not the exception. Luckily I live 20 miles away from the factory so have built up quite a relationship with the service and warranty department. Had the bevel box belt adjusted last week and then 2 days later a even larger belt squeal has appeared.

Looks like im gonna have to build up my tools box and get my hands dirty in the future.

"This car with over 32,000 miles..."

WOW, that is more than 50.000 km. Mine is 4.000 km and is now at the dealer for fixing serious issues for the second time.

First time was the camshaft-pulley bolt (is this the right description?) that unscrewed through the front cover.

Now its a cam wheel that is loose, meaning one of the cams is way out of proper adjustment. On the other hand - the dry-sump of the engine keeps filling up with oil. :-)

"They all do that sir..." :-D
