I've been a car enthusiast since I could walk and have soft spot for the British Sportscar.
I've had countless Caterham, Lotus and TVR but never a Morgan, no real reason for this just never went that route.
However a fortnight ago in Chris Neils (Oakmere) I had a few hours to kill whilst waiting for my car which was in for some warranty work. I had purposely not booked a courtesy car as I was toying with the idea of maybe p/x'ing for an Exige and thought a couple of hours there would be no bad thing. I quickly realised a move to an Exige would be no huge change and too similar to what I've already got so I went cool on that idea.
In the showroom packed with Loti, Caterham and Morgan it was the Morgans that stood out, maybe it was one of those "I've seen the light" moments haha.
Not knowing the first thing about specs or what's what I had a look at the used models and then went back inside and looked at the new stuff. One car did catch my eye for its quirkiness.
I then got a feel of what they'd allow me on the Lotus and went home to have a think and a swot up on Morgans, not even mentioning I fancied a one to them.
The car I liked was a 4/4 1.6 Sigma. I was worried about performance at first but then realised that was silly, however I did make a couple of calls to enquire about a couple of + 4 Supersports that were for sale.
At the end of the day I fancied something the Mrs. would maybe at last come out to shows, events and days out in. She won't go near the current Caterham or Lotus and has always quite liked the look of the Morgans, which I'd always shunned.
I then switched tack and offered the Caterham instead of the lotus as a p/x to the firm with the Supersport. It was not really something they were interested in I guess, so I did the same with Oakmere and they jumped at it.
It was a a rare JPE model (which they've already sold), I decided to bite the bullet and go new with the Saxe blue 80th Anniversary car that initially fired me up in the showroom.
I purposely have not driven one, not even sat in one so I'm really intrigued and looking forward to picking it up this Tuesday.
Wife's glad Caterham has gone and is also looking forward to seeing the Morgan.
Thanks for adding me to the group by the way. I'm certain I'll be needing to draw on the vast wealth of experience here over the coming months.
All the best Kenny

Nice one Stewart and thank you. Lancashire here as well when I get around to sorting my profile out. Do you ever join the Morgan guys who go to our local Sunday (1st of the month) meeting at Cornerhouse near Wrightington?

Thanks James Seems like quite a few of us do the Lotus/Morgan thing. Quite a few Morgan owners in our Lotus group too.

You have an excellent choice of cars there , the best of British , the Mog is very querky compared to these but completely mad and hugely characterful , you can get throttle bodies to fit that engine and cam upgrades as with a Caterham but don't tell erindoors !
Geneva 2016 plus 8' The Green Godess' 4 side exits .
