Has anyone replaced the S&S motor on M3W ? What would be a good replacement Option if any? More advanced quieter and more powerful engine than S&S ? Just a thought.

Note the unequal length wishbones giving negative camber under suspension compression and so increased grip on cornering, much as the Empire kit does. Strange how Tony Divey got it right first time Whoops, sorry .....thread drift

The M3W is locked into the Harley '06 and earlier Twin-Cam motor primary cover bolt pattern. The new Harleys, '07 on, have a five bolt pattern and the '06 earlier have a four bolt pattern.
Moto Guzzi motors at not as large as the S&S. They may have more HP, but their torque will not be as high as the S&S motor.
If you're looking for more power, the only way would be to do a big bore kit on the S&S along with cam and different TB with larger injectors.
Now if you wanted to convert to an "F" series and replace the S&S with the original Miata motor, I believe you could get tons more power, but the revs would be very high compared to the current setup from MMC.
IF you wanted more power, you really need to be thinking about the rear wheel. I believe the Polaris Slingshot has a 10"+ wide wheel in the rear and they break loose often as well.
Either way, the S&S is still the best way to go.

How about a Sodemo V twin aero engine ? Not sure how you'd hook it up to the gearbox. Propellor on the front instead ? http://www.sodemo.com/en/14/the-v2-engine.html

You could modify the X-Wedge with S&S upgrades. It would be more powerful, louder and would need more frequent rebuilding due to the stresses added. Mostly racers do this and longevity is not the reason to do this. You then arrive at the bleeding edge that marks the limits of an air cooled v-twin.
Dan's suggestion of a Miata engine would be sweet. Then you would have a powerplant with torque curves that would mesh smoothly with the Miata's transmission. The car would be quiet and vibration free. The entire front end would have to be reworked for the inclusion of a radiator, extra weight and the removal of the Centa torque convertor. It would look not near as cool as the current model. The steering would have to be reworked for real car tires. That's only the beginning...
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

Either way, the S&S is still the best way to go. This is only a very rough representation of both a V-Twin and the Miata. It will give you relative size difference. But it would be a MAJOR undertaking to get the Miata 1.6L or 1.8L shoehorned into the frontend of a M3W.
