We've recently fitted Suplex on our2014' plus 4. I really am not convinced at the moment that I have spent wisely. Overall the ride is marginally improved, however she now nods (which she didn't do with the standard set up) this fortunately is improving the more miles I do (700mls so far) and is in line with what I was told to expect. The steering whilst smoother is now very twitchy, especially immediately after the hardened pins have just been greased . I run the tyres at 22 psi . I have had the suspension readjusted after 600 miles and have been advised more miles are necessary for the car to settle down. I hope this advise is not Motor trade talk for " it won't but you'll get used to it and forget what used to be like" . So in conclusion at the moment I am not sure of the overall benefit. Sorry to be so negative. SteveH and Harry Sorry hit the wrong BUTTON (grin). Now that You have spent the Money for the Suplex, I would get all I can out of it. I have driven the Suplex on 3 different Morgans a lot of miles and over all sorts of roads. If You are a Back Road driver but not a Race Driver I think You will like it. But I don't think the "Nodding Dog" will cure itself. But it might. I have a garage full of rear springs, 5 leaf, 6 leaf and 7 leafs, and I know how to easily change them. Also there is a 4 leaf available that I hear is good but I have never tried it. My preference has been the MULFAB setup with 140 in/lb and bearing. For the money it is (IMO) the best solution.

Methinks it is about time Morgan offered a modern ver of the trad. Might be a little boring, but the looks will still be great. They do - the plus 8.

You can improve it but in the end the suspension has its limits....it's not modern sophisticated suspension.

I agree with the sentiment that MMC should offer these upgrades as an option at the very least, if not standard.

Before committing yourself to anything, have a word with Tim Ayres at New Elms Morgans. My front suspension was rubbish and so I fitted Suplex and hated it. Tim Ayres sorted it out for me using Rutherford components. http://www.newelms.com

Pretty stiff steering. Or try a Porsche Boxter on the switch backs of Southern Oregon. I did both. Performance cars, or ones that try to be are not all that compliant either.

I have the Suplex front springs since 2013 and the nodding dog left totally once it was fitted and hasn't returned since!! I have the rear 5link Suplex since last October and it makes the car handle better and the ride is more compliant, but not markedly so. I would not have a Morgan without the Suplex front springs, whereas I do like the rear conversion, I'm not convinced it is value for money!! - but then again it's not really about the money, is it??!!

If I were to order a new Morgan I would order it with a Suplex Kit. It does a job I like. But I would not remove the existing suspension and install a Suplex Kit. Not worth it IMO.

I agree with you completely Robbie with the exception of the rear system. For me the rear conversion has totally altered the car. The ride is more comfortable than the new VW Polo and the ground clearance issues have been resolved. I have however changed the rear coil springs. I asked Dan to make me a set with a higher spring rate. My reason for this was that when we are touring we carry a fair weight of luggage over the rear wheels. My feeling was that the standard rear spring rate was not high enough to support this extra load without adjusting the pre-load. As you don't want to have to adjust the pre-load up and down one accepts a compromise that is satifactory when you are out for a solo run and is also able to carry the load when touring two up. This will always be a personal choice. The other spin off of the higher rate rear springs is a slightly increased roll stiffness. There is a slightly firmer ride but objectively you can't really tell the difference. For me it has absolutely been value for money. If I was ordering a new set I would certainly order the higher rate rear springs and I would consider the optional higher rate front springs. The standard springs are designed for a more comfortable ride and some people are prepared to accept a harder ride for more sporty handling. For a Roadster or traditional Plus 8 I suspect the higher rate front springs would be a good idea to give the support for that extra weight, better front ground clearance, etc. As far as having any nodding dog syndrome after fitting the Suplex (now SSL) kit is concerned I have not experienced anything like that so I can only think that some other issue is causing it. Certainly there is no logic in the idea that the kit has to settle in. The springs are very high quality and would take ages to alter their state. The only thing that I can think is that there may be an issue with the kingpins being too tight or that there is a problem with the dampers: either a fault in the dampers themselves or, if adjustable, that they are incorrectly adjusted.
