Button, is it possible you are referring to Peters' (Gambalunga) post?

Not sure what/who I was referring to. Although I have done a lot of experimenting with Suplex, Mulfab & Factory Original I must admit I am very confused about the benefits of Suplex. I have switched the +8 Bitsa back and forth between Suplex, Mulfab, multiple times. I think it depends on the condition of the road I am driving. I think it is the cost vs performance that bothers Me more than anything.

All, as we know the rebound springs have to be just kissing the hubs at laden ride height. If they are compressed at laden ride height then there is a significant risk of the 'nodding dog' returning as the car bounces on the front tyres with no damping. The threaded spring seats need to be adjusted to get the rebound springs just kissing the hub; jacking the front of the car under the cross tube up by about 2 inches and dropping it quickly helps it settle to be able to judge the rebound spring condition.
The SUPLEX now SSL 'RS' Refinement System now uses adjustable SPAX dampers that at softest are set to the Bilstein monotubes' setting.
Any owner of a car with SUPLEX/SSL 'RS' front suspension kit is welcomed to call SSL for free advise or of course contact a reputable dealer.
Regards Peter.

Button, confused still! You certainly were a few years ago when you liked the hub touching the RS 'Rate Riser' spring to give a progressive bump rate and a regressive then progressive droop rate. That really was a unique setting. The 'RS' when set correctly has a rising rate in bump unlike the setups with Mulfabs or Rutherford springs that are either linear or regressive. The RS also has a progressive rebound spring to control droop. So those are the benefits along with the ability to set the hub kissing the rebound spring.
Dampers are either the special Bilstein monotube or now the tuned SPAX adjustables that have been set at full soft to match the Bilstein setting. Hope that helps your confusion Button.
The Morgan factory many years ago approved the 'RS' system and fit it as an option in chassis build with good take up.
Remember the 'RS' is a Refinement System, as always SUPLEX now SSL will supply stiffer springs and alternative damper settings for competition as on the successful race cars SSL support.

Your ideas/design certainly changed how We think about Trad Morgan Suspension. Just talking Suplex into making the Kit had to be a challenge. There is at least one other Suplex Kit being installed on a early +8 in the US (South of San Francisco). I will be interesting to follow this.

I posted on this topic on the 8th May relating my suspension concerns, however I was both surprised and delighted when I received an email from Peter Ballard who expressed his concern at my issues . I contacted Peter who then offered to come to my house and reset everything ,wow, this surely is beyond the call of duty and demonstrates total confidence in his design. Peter spent a couple of hours with me and has now readjusted the front suspension. I will now give the Mog a good trial over the next few days, before Williams open day on Saturday , where Peter will be on hand demonstrating both his front and rear upgrades, and I will be be able to give him a running report on my re-adjusted upgrade. I had this setup installed two months ago: AVO adjustables (4 clicks) with Mulfab upper springs and steering bearings. The bottom springs are unchanged.
Also fitted at the same time were brake reactions stays. The steering dampers have been removed. The kingpins were also changed.
Previously I had a Panhard Rod fitted.

For me, the ride has been transformed. I could try moving the AVOs up a few notches, but will see how it goes for now.
It was a bit 'stiff' at first, but has loosened up well since the first ride.

It is much more compliant, although still most definitely a retro experience.
Hey, I can also turn the wheel without feeling I am working against the world.
At last I can be confident when I find myself heading for a pothole.
OK, it is not like the Skoda Yeti workhorse at home, but I don't have to wait for the crash any more.

I might start playing with the rear AVO setting as an experiment.

Happy with the front on 7 clicks. Rears adjusted to 4 clicks and a good mileage last weekend. swmbo says she notices an improvement after the rear adjustment. The car feels better, more connected.
I have standard Mulfab springs and damper blades with hard chrome kingpins. Considering Mulfab bearings as a future upgrade.

I have been using the Mulfab springs with cutdown rebound springs. I am presently removing the cutdown spring and going to the uncut spring. Koni shock on lowest setting. Brake reaction rods (doesn't everybody use them?)

I am beginning to have doubts that "Hooke's Law" is appropriate for Morgan Front Suspension. Just a bit too "Counterintuitive" I think. Need to find a University Professor. Are there any on "Talk Morgan"?
