Yeah that exhaust and warranty stuff is nonsense. That's been a debate amongst the motorcycle crowd for decades.
Like Dan said, if the modification impacted something directly related to it then that's understandable, but they better not be trying to weasel out of other work just cause someone did an upgrade that they were themselves offering.
I'll be going the high noon route though for sure.
