Hi all,
let me first introduce myself - this being my first post on TalkMorgan. My name is Marian, which is, in fact, a male first name in Eastern European countries although I originate from Berlin, Germany. Since almost 7 years I live in Switzerland and I'm extremly thankful for this twist in my personal biography, as it allowed me to purchase my dream car before I'll turn 40. Based on my income back then in Germany, I still wouldn't be able to afford just the set of rims.
Following a phone call with the factory, I can positively confirm that my new +4 will enter production on Monday next week and shall be due for local pick-up in week 29. However, delivery was scheduled on the 26th of June - but after all, I wouldn't argue.
The order-number is 51212, Build-No. 24/10. Those of you being fortunate enough visiting the factory in near future are of course invited to track down my new wheels and - at least when "semi-finished" - to look out for a dark-brown non-metallic (DB460 - an old Mercedes color from the late fities) Trad with "burnt-orange" interior piped brown and matching brown hood and carpets. I would of course very much appreciate photos of during work in progress, as I was told that photos - although I specified the "build-record" - can not supplied by the factory during the build-process and that the CD will be only handed over once I take delivery.
Give me something to keep me awake a night and to keep my blood boiling untill the car's finished. I know this sounds familiar to you guys - at the moment NOTHING comes close.
Cheers, Marian

Hi Marian, I cannot help with factory visit information. I welcome you to the forum. The anticipation must be raising the blood pressure. I hope you enjoy the car when it arrives (Or are you going to collect it yourself?) One of the members from Germany, I think, was posting regular photos of his car during its build, so you need to ask the factory resident photographer how you can get to see regular photos of your build.

Hi and thanks for the immediate reply. @Frank: I will indeed spend my summer vacation in England - and you may guess why... How do I get in touch with the photographer? I was told he's working for an external company, that is providing this service to the factory and their customers. @Easter: If you would make it to the factory earlier than me, you'd do me a huge favor posting some pictures of my new Morgan. I went back and forth deciding upon the color combination and came a long way down from black, over gun-metal with semi-glossy finish to my definite order, which was long overdue only two weeks ago. Now the contrasting piping would not include headrests (the contrast would only make them stand out even more) and also not the area around handbrake and gearlever (looks IMHO a little bit too gaudy). As I felt that the light color of the orange leather will wear off and start to look odd on the sills, I will get them covered with dark brown leather as well (the color is called "loom") - and so will be the piping around the carpets. On top of that I ordered brown stiching around the elasticated band on the door pockets, on the centre console and the door strips (BTW: how are the called correctly). The Dash will now be veneered in walnut as friends expressed their total disbelief once I told them I'd rather go for a leather covered one and alloys instead of stainless wires. Maybe in 20 years time I will appreciate their word of advice or hate them for their bad taste and the fact they talked me out of the purity I initially wanted. Cheers, Marian

Welcome Marian I can't wait to see your finished car. I love 1560's burnt orange interior on his Roadster and I expect therefore yours with your particular detailing to also look fab
Cheers

Hi Marian, Sounds a super combination. I will be in the factory shortly and will make sure that I bring a camera and find your car. Mine is supposed to be ready on the 9th June, but there have been quite a few false dawns ... Brian

Hi & "grüezi" Marian! I have to admit that it´s ME Frank 4x4 spoke of as mentioning the german meber´s work-progress-photos.. Your choice sounds outstandingly interesting - and i thought that I´m the only crazy bloke that has EVERY little detail made in it´s certain color. I´m looking forward to communicate with you further on! I´d pass you some production-pics if you like to (just pm me)! And: i can COMPLETELY understand your actula "condition"! Mine is some months away by now - but i can tell you i DO miss it!!!!!!! (am not sure if people around me do... )
It doesn´t matter how fast it becomes, but how it becomes fast. 2015 Roadster 3.7

Thank you all for the warm welcome ! I looked at ALL of your photos on TalkMorgan and literally spent nights downloading and comparing photos I sourced from all over the web. With only two Morgan shown on Techno Classica in Essen this year, my visit was not much of a help. But I finally realized that - after countless classic cars, like old Mercs, several TR's and a '65 S-Type and a MKII (most of them in rather tatty order) was was finally "ripe" for a new Morgan. It is certainly the "best of both worlds" - the Morgan brochures couldn't be more right about that. EDIT: Oh, I just mistyped the word "Morgan", as "a" and "s" are right next to each other on my Swiss keyboard - "Morgasn" does certainly has some meaning to me... I'm glad, apparently all of you like the choosen combination. I shall further note that I went for delete of tread rubbers and that I made plans to add a front bumper later on. @numog: I always fancied your car and I'm still wondering how you got hold of the photos. Cheers, Marian
