Also add proper rear hub, so the belt doesn't rub the tire

I wish it were so simple. The damn steering, as offered on the initial 2012/2013 models was deadly. It was flawed. It was designed badly. It damn near took me out any number of times. I wish that it was due to wanting a 'softer, mushier' steering like days of old but no. This was total crap. Somebody blew it and Morgan turned their collective corporate back to it.
This put the nail on the coffin as far as I was concerned. We were Beta testers. Left out to dry... What's interesting is that without fitting the comfort kit, all the bump steer issues disappeared on my 2012 M3W with the new chassis fit. I'm still considering the comfort kit mod as I do like the sturdy top plate and tie rod end.

Well all good news as Richard Thorne is so close I popped in to see him and my noise was belt and they did a bevel box service too and fitted the rear mudguard.
Compensator and clutch are absolutely fine so picking back up Saturday with a full bill of health. Can't wait.

Hi, Please can you describe the sound of this noise? I have had my 2012 M3W for three months and its been great. Yesterday I went to Blenheim Palace with MSCC this being the longest journey so far. On my journey home I noticed a clunking sound. I have pushed the car in and out of the garage and it moves about 15 feet between clunks. I took the plastic luggage cover off but cant see anything obvious. I've made a video/sound recording. https://youtu.be/LWfszBXu3BoAny advice gratefully received, Thanks, Ian

Ah - this could be the Compensator.It sits between the engine and the Gearbox.
Have you had the Centra fitted - or is it the original unit??
If it is original and starting to fail you will hear it on tick over - a repetitive banging noise. It may diminish or go as the revs pick up.

If your pushing it presumably it's in neutral so it won't the the compensator as the output shaft of the gearbox won't be turning. If you jack the back wheel and remove the boot cover it should be obvious when you tune the wheel by hand

Sounds to me like the drive belt is way too tight and have you checked for a stone or similar lodged in the belt or pulley teeth?

Sounds to me like the drive belt is way too tight and have you checked for a stone or similar lodged in the belt or pulley teeth? +1 - the clunk interval fits with the diameter of the rear pulley

Thanks for the advice. I hadn't thought of checking the belt tension or pulley teeth. I'll have have a look tomorrow, guess I was reading too many posts about expensive things going wrong with the drivetrain....
