Phil, your blog makes really interesting reading and proves that the cush drive theory makes sense over rubber rollers. One would hope that Morgan take note if all the hard work and research you've carried out.

I thought the birds beak trick really ingenious to soften the torque takeup too - nice thinking. Phil, if production of the system is envisioned then you'll have a few customers I'm sure I for one am interested.

Hi Phil,

I've always had my doubts about the NVH kit (especially after being told by someone at the factory that it was 'a waste of time')! Therefore, I'm definitely interested in your BB mounting kit. Am I right to assume that it can be retrofitted without removing the engine? Personally, I'm not so interested in the Centa poly blocks because my stock Centa isn't causing me any concerns since fitting the G56 exhausts. This situation may change if shreaded rubber starts to appear under the car at some point in the future!

Thanks,

Andy

The Morgan clutch package is another one off product specific to M3W.
This second clutch has worn much better than the first one now that I know how much work and dollars it is to replace. Just replacing everything since its apart.

My engineering buddy took a quick look to see if a T-5 transmissions would fit using a Ford 200ci straight 6 cyclinder bell house which does fit over the flywheel.
More on this later 😊

Not intending to cause thread drift, and perhaps covered somewhere else, but I find it very hard to believe that there is any non-standard Mazda stuff in the transmission. It may not match the US-spec MX5 as to ratios (a guess) but I'd be very surprised if it has any Morgan-specific bits inside. Perhaps take some good pics and post them and a description over on the MX5 forum and see what you can learn.

Sorry Graham, end of June I take my flutes to exhibit in France and then stay on for a meeting of Velocette owners in early August. If you are travelling back past Dijon then maybe you could do a day ( or more) at my French house? It is only one star accommodation but fun. I may not get there till the 27th. Failing that it will have to be later in August - why is retirement so busy?

Thanks,

Thanks for your interest Bunny. Yes the bevel box mounts go in with engine and gearbox still in place and no nasty welding or grinding to be done. The Centa inserts can always be changed later when and if needed.

No problem Phil , there is no rush.
I will be in touch August time.

Can I run an idea past you.
From what you have seen removing the engine to get at the centa, might it be easier and less fiddly removing the pro shaft and dropping the gearbox rather than going in from the front and removing the engine? I.e with the prop shaft removed and the gearbox supported by a engine lift , un bolt it and swing it away.
just a thought based on how I saw a clutch changed once ( not on a three wheeler).
