Hi Guys,
I am getting a metalic clunk from the offside rear area when pulling away or on overrun. Is this "normal".

Sounds like a wear in the prop shaft UJ wear problem.

Side exit exhausts tapping the bodywork (I think I have read a thread on here about the exhaust brackets on S5's Failing)

It's not normal on mine.

The side pipe exhaust brackets do seem to be consumable items - but they rattle on idle, not when on the move.

Be careful it doesnt do a 90deg turn into a Malvern Garden wall whilst your driving it hide

No it's not.

Checked your wheels are nice and tight. Exhaust pipes feel solid?

As above, there's a chance it could be the drive shaft - worth checking out.
