Last Tuesday I left Seattle and headed North to pick up Loretta and then further North into Canada and West to a bordertown "Osoyoos, BC". By that time We had 7 Morgans. We picked up 2 more Morgans and the next day went north along a chain of lakes to Kelowna where We picked up another from Calgary. This is the Okanagan Valley. A few years ago it was Orchards. Now it is grapes. Wine Country. We did a bit of Wine Tasting. The most memorable Winery was "Dirty Laundry". It was built on the site of a Chinese Laundry. The clientele were Miners from the local Mine. Business was slow, so the Owner hired 7 girls. Girl a day a week. So "Dirty" upstairs and "Clean" downstairs. The Miners had a smile on their face and the Chinese Laundry prospered. Great driving for 4 or 5 days with only one mishap. +8 radiator mount failed, taking out the Rad Fan. Flat Bedded back to Vancouver, BC. The AA came to the rescue.

Having driven the backroads from Vancouver towards Seattle but staying in the cascades I am imagining a fabulous drive.

Any pictures?

I often take the backroads from Seattle to Vancouver. There are actually 2 roads available. Highway 9 and another road from Arlington, to Darrington, to Concrete and back to Highway 9.

I did not take any pictures. But others did. I will try to get them.

A pleasant drive over to Claymills Pumping Station for a guided tour. Wonderful place and well worth a visit - open every Thursday and Saturday.

Drove round to Kop Hill and after blasting up the hill had a nice walk around Whiteleaf looking out over Prince Risborough and the Chilterns.

Side screens off & all was well

Left Cambridge Monday May 15th - France - Andorra- Spain- Portugal - Spain - France and home on 31st May - 3300 miles and 620 litres in my 1980 +8. Saw the second speedo go round the clock for the second time on the 17th.
