How do you feel about driving in rain in waterproofs to avoid - stopping to put hood up - and stopping again to take it down?

Occurs to me the car gets even wetter standing still whilst I re-jig the hood!

Cheers

Firstly redcard To know tonneau smile

... but yes I agree. I don't know how easy the Roadster hood is to put up but on my 4/4 the only circumstances under which I'd bother is in the garage before leaving home. If I'm out I just press on. I have a couple of Thorpe Park plastic ponchos in the door pockets for such eventualities.

Yes, I'm with Ian here. If I know it's going to rain then I'm quite happy to put the hood up, but if I'm caught out, then I just crack on.

If it's a passing cloudburst then I'm happy to pull over and put the umbrella up if it's feasible. Occasionally, like last Bank Holiday Monday, I get caught on a Motorway with nowhere to stop then it all gets a bit daft, but it's only rainwater after all, and one can soon dry out.

I'm not concerned about me but I do worry about the car leather etc getting soaked. Anyone else is as a problem?

I've seen a least one post on here concerning mildew or similar on the door cards.

I only stop for the hood if the rain gets too heavy. I have used an umbrella if stopped( gets some weird looks and smiles). I have the older stud hood. If a chance of rain I fit the rear as normal then fold the front part over. This then acts as a cover for the luggage space behind the seats. It is folded so that the clear windows are not folded, just the front half.If I need the hood it is a much quicker hood up process as it is part fitted and almost like an easy-up hood. It is, though, a choice of tonneau or hood as both cannot be used together.
