Just what I have done Peter, not for a reflective vest but for map books, spare whatever and a drinks bottle. Bought a pair of rally mesh door bags on wire frames (also on eBay) and cut one up too make a half glove box mesh as per some later cars and used the other on the passengers side of the transmission tunnel.
