Just what I have done Peter, not for a reflective vest but for map books, spare whatever and a drinks bottle. Bought a pair of rally mesh door bags on wire frames (also on eBay) and cut one up too make a half glove box mesh as per some later cars and used the other on the passengers side of the transmission tunnel.

I carry a first aid kit but I don't put it under the parcel shelf. If ever I need it (hopefully never) I don't want to have to spend half an hour removing luggage, carpet, ply cover, etc. to get at it. I'm actually thinking of cutting the carpet in such a way that the cover can be removed with the top part of the carpet still attached to it. The near vertical part behind the seat would remain studded in place. That's what I've done. No concerns with originality for me.

Looks like a great idea Colin. That's what I've done. No concerns with originality for me. Originality? What's that?
