Yesterday I finally got round to sorting out the rear storage area on my still reasonably new to me 2007 4/4 and noticed that there is a empty recess for what I assume was storage for a first aid kit - any ideas on where I maybe able to get a replacement - as I'm all about originality

No First Aid Kit as standard on my 4/4 2010 - but can get them from Boots, Go Outdoors or any pharmacy or supermarket - usually in a red or green bag which are internationally recognised colours for First Aid kits - although I think that the green ones go better with my green Mog.

Thanks Phil do you mean that the kit was an optional extra and may never have been supplied new with the vehicle?

Ah I think I have sorted it, I found an earlier post and it mentioned that only Morgans sold in Germany came with a First Aid kit as standard as it is a legal requirement. Mystery solved. So in order to be 'factory standard' I suppose I need to leave the gap in the accessory shelf unfilled.

I carry a first aid kit but I don't put it under the parcel shelf. If ever I need it (hopefully never) I don't want to have to spend half an hour removing luggage, carpet, ply cover, etc. to get at it. I'm actually thinking of cutting the carpet in such a way that the cover can be removed with the top part of the carpet still attached to it. The near vertical part behind the seat would remain studded in place.

I must admit that the carpet issue is one on my list to do. It does seem a real fag to get to the tray.

I stuff my First Aid Kit under the passenger seat. I think it is a requirement that it has to be accessible or is that the safety vest?

A first aid kit should be replaced after 5-6 years to grant full effectivity.

Something strange happened there. My browser seemed to get completely blocked and refused to re-load after I pressed the Submit button. After it timed out and came up with a message to retry I tried to re-load the page. I think it must have posted the second time then.

Regarding the safety vest in some countries it is actually obligatory to have it in a place where you can put it on before exiting the car. Other countries don't specifically specify that it should be within the reach of the driver but do specify it must be worn by all persons when leaving the car so logically it must be within reach and you must have one for every person in the car. Under or alongside of the seats would seem a logical place in a Morgan. When I think about it I might get Borghi to put some pockets on the side of the gearbox cover specifically for this use.
