Could you post a few pics of what you conjured up to mount them? I definitely like the look, and am curious how you went about mounting them down there...

They're fabulous - and they work with the car design too.

Thanks everyone for the kind remarks!

Last evening at dusk I went on a cruise to see how the bright driving lights and fog lamps performed together. I also wanted to see if the brackets and fog lamps stayed in place. All went well and not one passing driver flashed me for excessive light with everything on. So far so good. Grockle has cautioned me about having too many things on at the same time. I told him I'll turn off Linda's heated seat on a cold evening.....lol...it's something I will keep an eye on as a motorcycle battery is smaller than what i'm use to.

To make the two lamp supports you will need some 1" wide x 1/8" thick steel bar stock. The photos will show how I made them. You may want to make up a cardboard pattern first. In one of the photos you can see a wooden wedge I quickly made up to support the engine when you pull the engine mounting bolts out. Do only one side at a time! You can use the original engine mount bolts if you use the thin style lock washers or you could just buy a couple new quality bolts 1/2" longer. This is overall not very hard to do if you have a drill press and some metal forming experience. If you don't find a machinist or a small machine shop in your area to help. They normally don't charge too much and I think enjoy some of my crazy projects from time to time! I know every small machine shop with in 30 miles!!...lol Then once you have a set made made do a final mock up as Grockle always says! If it all works then paint them satin black and reinstall.

Hope this helps and I do like the classic look with the vintage fog lamps. If your looking for a set of vintage fog lamps check out Ebay from time to time. I have just recently seen some really nice sets but expect to pay a premium for them. Again nothing was altered on the M3W and it can easily be put right back.

Thanks Florida lime!

I also had a very nice compliment from a gentleman on the M3W and the vintage fog lamps while parked outside of a restaurant the other evening. The gentleman who I recognized has been featured with the Pawn Stars and Pickers shows and specializes in really cool and collectible antiques. We had a great visit and were the very last to leave. He actually filmed me while I was driving out of the lot!

So far the custom brackets I made and the lamps are staying in place which I'm happy about considering how much vibration the M3W has.

High Noon - do you find your lamps get v hot next to the engine? Just curious - being metal backed they should be more resilient than some modern plastic framed lamps...
Cheers

Thanks skullmog & Stewart S !

To answer PaulV , we went for a cruise this afternoon it was 89 and sunny. As soon as we returned I got out and carefully placed my hands on both fog lamps at the closest point to the exhaust. They were warm but I didn't have to remove my hands. So it seems with them below the hot exhaust and air flow they will be just fine. So far so good on the mounts too.

A set of vintage style fog lamps might be an option for Morgan to consider and maybe vintage fender lamps too!

Thanks,

Thanks - I do like the look. Would probably want something LED powered with the limited electrics from the M3W ...
