Stags don't do it for me - they just look like a sedan that someone has taken an electric saw to.

G suggested an MGC and there are actually a few nice ones around; however, the price is starting to creep up.

I think you finds they follow the temperature. Leave it until it cools a bit and the prices will come down.

In fairness, I think the percentage increase is relatively small - however, the dealers may be less willing to negotiate on price. The MGC seems to be pricey because of the low numbers produced.

Simon,

The big problem with classics is the prices are generally all over the place and the only way to get any decent feedback is to go and look at them. I remember looking for E-type and you'll be amazed how much rust costs per tonne ooo

Fiat barchetta:

I owned this one from 1999 until I got my Morgan in 2007, and then sold it to my daughter for EUR 1,- . Can you go cheaper then that? wink

No seriously... You can buy a barchetta for very little money. It's are very reliable (180000km on the clock now and still going strong) fun to drive, and in my opinion one of the most beautiful cars ever designed.

Sunny greetings,
Ivo

Thanks Ivo but like the VX220 and MX-5, they are too new. I like them and can see the appeal but to be honest, they are too new and if I am not mistaken, only come in LHD (which is not ideal for country lane driving, etc).
