i have them. When one of them broke off I found that rain would hit the sidescreen of the broken side but not on the good side. So IMO there is evidence that they do work.

I have a set of the Simmonds wind defelctors, I had them on the car for a few years, but then took them off because I felt that although they looked good, they didn't actualy do much.
About a month ago, before my trip to France, I refitted them. I still can't make my mind up as to whether the actually make much difference, but I still think they look good. I try not to have the sidescreens fittedwhenever I can.
The huge advantage of the Simmonds defelctors over the perspex type is that they sit inside the sidescreens, so they don't get in the way so much when the sidescreens are on.

I personally like the look of the deflectors and feel they do have a positive effect. If I were to replace the perspex then I'd try and fettle a deeper unit as it seems the main source of wind into the cabin comes from beneath. In fact, if I can find a cheap sheet I may have ago.... Whilst I agree the side screens are more effective I find the squeak and rattle too much. Not so keen on the aesthetics either

I have had both the perspex type and the Simmonds glass deflectors which are much more substantial on different Morgans and found that neither worked for me, perhaps because I sit as far back as possible in the car. I took them off in each case and agree that they were a PITA. Good remark Max, the effect of the deflectors is of course distance dependent. So the impact of the deflector may be judged differently by taller than shorter Morganeers. I am 190 cm, so for me they may not work that well. What I have observed is if you hold your hand in the space below the deflector there is an effect, as if you block a stream of air that comes up from below. Deflector should be longer to block that stream, which will make them even less optically pleasing... I think I will remove them and see what happens. Given the mixed feedback, i am not expecting a huge difference. Cheers, Bert

All very interesting, and all very Marmite.
I had mine removed when I bought the car as I thought they looked rather naff and retired.
Oddly, after putting them back on so that DaveW could have an image of them for his forthcoming publication, I have left them on!
I am not sure if they make all that much difference, but having them on means that I feel OK about leaving the sidescreens off.
All very interesting, and all very Marmite!

That is an intersting read! Thx for sharing, it confirms that the deflectors are not long enough for cut away doors. Thanks for sharing this link! Cheers, Bert
