I was wondering if this increase in height was something to do with an exhaust balance pipe being added - under the engine. These pipes would join the two main exhaust pipes as a cross pipe.So a lot more space would be needed under the front of the car to accommodate this - if indeed I am right in my assumption.
Many modern bike engines do have this - for emission/noise control I think.

I could be completely wrong!!!

That would mean expensive re-engineering and a higher CoG. Pipe could go behind instead?

I`ve got them specked on my build.

As I recall they are 45mm higher.

What about resale value?

I took the view that, as the car is RHD, it wouldn't likely be attractive to anyone in the EU and so the resale value shouldn't be affected, hopefully. It may be that, if the modifications required to make new cars compliant with the tougher emissions requirements affect the dynamics and character of the cars, the resale vale may actually be enhanced, but who knows!
