Hi

For a Fathers Day treat number 2 son came home and decided we should have a long drive in the +8.
Halfway into a great run down through Darbyshire the LCD display seemed to disapear. On close inspection it was there but very faint.
Anyone else had this problem?
That apart we had a great run out doing just over 100 miles in fantastic sunshine, made me aware just how little hair I have so just a bit burnt now!

I had a great run down to Portsmouth in mine today - then out on the Solent and over to the Isle of Wight for lunch.

Could your display be fogging rather than fading? My clocks are prone to fogging up - just wonder if it could be that.

Has it come back to life?

You may find that the LCD display returns to normal when the ambient temp drops. In general LCD displays don't do well with extremes of temperature.

Some will stop working at 80 dec C, but return to normal when the temperature drops.

It could also be that there is a crack in the LCD glass, or a seal leaked so some of the liquid crystal has escaped.

Have had the LCD numbers for the gears disappear a few months ago when down at Ixworth , when we parked up and then switched on again it had reset itself thankfully !The very hot day and queue into Ickworth may not have helped.

Wow Neilda that looks like one seriously fun day.
I can confirm the display was not fogged although I have seen that previously.
Maybe the bright sun and heat (30*) was the problem, I'll have a look tomorrow and report back.
In any event the car is due for a service in a couple of weeks so if is still faint I'm sure they can sort it.
