Rockabilly John. The ones I used were M4x10 but mine is a 2012 so I put the inserts in as well. Sorry not much help

I had similar on my M3W - they made taking the cover off sooo easy -and look neat too!!

Brilliant idea to replace the hex screws with thumb screws! Those hex's get stripped so easily!
Does anyone know the size required?

Maybe another improvement!
On my 2013 the M4 goes in the rearmost hole by the leather hinge.
I can’t see any apparent reason for it being a different size so changing to all M5 makes sense.

My 2013 had a rearmost M4 which the insert soon became loose. It came back rebuilt with all M5.

+1 for the thumb screws.
Also try some 15mm pipe lagging over the rollover valve it will dampen any vibration.
I have used it all around the top edge of the aluminium bulkhead at the back of the seat to stop unwanted noise and dust coming through.
