I know it sound a tall story but it is true.
It changed me from being a sceptic, even at the young age of 16 or 17 into a pragmatist. I decided it was better to acknowledge and wave to the 'little people' than have the inconvenience of those breakdowns.

It's part of Manx folklore it seems, so a chat with the fairies it is, then..! It's another tradition that the first one there accepts a £20 note from each member of the party too, apparently..

Jays, I'm going the damage limitation route, a can of fuel in the boot and enough spares to build another car. As for fairies, I'm ok with it, had many a good conversation with the ones at the bottom of my garden..  Thanks Ken A, did think of switching to Evans before the trip but that's another story..  Steve I heard a similar piece of folklore but it was the last one that got the money, not the first. I'll be tail end Charlie then..

Don't put your foot down too hard coming off the ferry SBM as you're likely to end up in the sea on the other side and overshoot the island. SteveT - is it just the one can you're taking with you?  Safe trip chaps, we'll be with you in spirit (gin preferably).

It's all the room I have Roger, what with the spare wheel and two dozen vestal virgin pants..its full!
And it's a small island no? Surely even just one gallon will get me from the ferry to the first petrol station.. I've phoned ahead to make sure they get a delivery in..
