Having clicked over the magic 60 & got a concession price at the cinema saving me £3, I thought I had hit a rich stream of coat reduction & savings potential.
For fun I thought I would see if I can get a free bus pass.
We have a bus in the village it goes to Wycombe every Thursday & comes back the next Thursday from Amsersham so it is very convenient.
Guess what thanks to Blair & Brown I can't now get one at 60 or 65 in Bucks only at 66. If I move to Wales , Scotland or NI I would qualify but that seems a bit drastic!
See below extract from HMRC
Your bus pass age
The date you qualify for a bus pass is:
*on 66, if you live in England
*when you turn 60 years old, if you live in Scotland,Wales or Northern Ireland
The same applies to the boss as well as her pension being 6 years delayed from the agreed contract date when she started paying in NI 44 years ago.
This could turn me into a grumpy old git.
