Driving to Southport today to pick up some bits from Dave at Life's motors.

On a fast moving dual carriageway I heard a clatter and saw a shiny piece of something fly off at an angle and into the undegrowth of the central reservation.

I then noticed something black flapping in the offside headlight area.

So I pulled over a couple of miles further on at the first opportunity and was convinced a blackbird or something had taken out a light.

It turned out to be the headlight rim/bezel had flown off and the black flappy bit was the gasket flapping like mad in the wind.

550 miles in to ownership and my first issue so not too upset but the car looked awful without it.

Just counting my blessings that after a thorough investigation this bezel missed any paintwork completely, not a mark. It could have been a costly episode.

Hat's off to Lifes and a big thanks to Dave there, what a great bloke. He had a rim in stock and promptly had it fitted.

Also thanks to Steve and the guys at Oakmere the supplying dealer, they are sorting Life's out with the replacement piece under warranty.

Nice to know these Morgan dealers all seem to be very helpful and very decent people indeed.

Another great bonus that makes me all the more pleased I joined the Morgan fold.

Thanks to all concerned.

Yes happened to me after a few hundred miles whilst on a dual carriageway. I stopped and managed to find mine though on the otherside of the road. After playing chicken with the lorries.

Jeez, well done for getting it back........no paint damage either I hope?

I had no chance of retrieving this one sadly. I guess it's another thing to add to the checklist from now on. It seems if that bottom screw falls out that's it. Still amazed it didn't cause any other damage though.

Well done.

And well done Lifes and Oakmere. Not always happy mates from what I hear.

But as you say good to know that the dealers are there when you need them.

Thanks Neil and spot on thumbs

I didn't know of anything between Life's and Oakmere but with the buying power Oakmere seem to have and ready built new stock on tap it must be frustrating trying to win new business.

However as a customer I can't rate both firms highly enough, and not just because of today.

That's a nice refreshing story of inter dealer cooperation and seeing the customer right Kenny thumbs.
