I'm just curious about one thing, has any of the Empire equipped M3W's had a cracked front motor/suspension cradle assembly?

I am pretty sure Planenut had a new chassis and he has the Empire kit fitted.

Yes I have a 2012 with the Empire kit, but I fitted it just after it came out--what 2013? My crack did not appear until AFTER I fit the triangular brace the the factory dreamed up to avoid the frame cracking issue. In fact I fit the frame "upgrade" in fall 2016. I found the crack in winter 2017. I have no idea what exactly what caused the crack and I'd sure like to know.

I had the Empire kit fitted to my 2013 car when, in the words of Sebastian Vettel, "I was brake tested" and failed (just). The chassis bent on the lower suspension arm with only a very minor bump, multiple whiplash claims were made by the other cars occupants. The Empire kit was fine and was tranfered to the new post 2014 spec chassis, where it still is and is performing well, as advertised. So nothing crack related to the Empire kit.

It also occurred to me that the billet aluminium (aluminum!) Empire bracket would spread the load better, but if it does, it has not save the several chassis which have still cracked in the same place.

This top chassis rail appears to be unsupported, and takes the total load from the top wishbone. Maybe it should be triangulated better than the brace that MMC cobbled up, perhaps a bolt in brace at the front, not the rear? It's odd that it normally appears to be the left hand chassis rail which breaks?

Do not forget the upward load from the top coilover mounting.

The bolted in brace fitted in Oct 2015 did not stop the chassis fracture I found in March 2017 at 9447 miles.

The brace on my 2012 was added in Sept 2015 and my chassis failed at over 37,000 miles just last week. Morgan has said that they will supply a new chassis as well as help on the rebuild. Am hoping to have car back by Fall...

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.
