I expect this topic has been covered alsewhere, but I have found most kerbs and potholes in the country and the Oz wheels are in a bit of a mess, with one of them having to be swapped to the rear as no amount of balancing will cure the wobble over 80mph (oops kmh!) . I believe they are expensive/difficult to either repair or replace. Whats the answer to my problem? Is there a mod. to have conventional 5 stud wheel?

Taffy the original Morgan Aero 8 series 1 wheels are magnesium centre lock - and, unfortunately magnesium wheels are virtually impossible to repair.

The Morgan Motor Company did buy up the last of the stock when OZ ceased production; however, I am not sure if they still have any set left (they would be my first call if I was looking for a new wheel).

Morgan did move over to a traditional 5-bolt wheel late in the Aero 8 S1 production run - therefore, it is possible to fit the later wheels to your car. There are plenty of photos in the Talk Morgan Photo Gallery of S1 cars on the 5-bolt wheels (MattC's being a great example).

These 5-bolt wheels are definitely easier to live with but some people believe they loose a little of the 'road-racer' look that appealed about the early Aero 8s (but this is obviously down to individual opinion).

Lastly, sets of the OZs do come up for sale on this site - although not often.

Simon- many thanks for this. When they were changing the tyres recently I noticed that the wheel had a type of plate which had studs on them. Would these be "swappable" or is there an adaptor plate of some type required.

To be honest Taffy, I'm not 100% sure - it sounds like a hub adaptor. I am pretty sure that is how MMC went from from centre lock to 5-bolt; I know it wasn't a significant modification to the Aero S1.

MMC do have new series 1 OZ wheels in stock (as of last month) but I was told they are £586.86 each PLUS VAT!!!!!!!!
