After a quick dash over to Hamburg on Sunday. Morgan Park DE fitted new windscreen pillars and sidescreen surrounds plus an internal boot.

Back on Tuesday then service at the factory on Wednesday along with exhaust brackets fixed, once and for all, fingers crossed. Plus the aircon gassed. 2,000 miles of woohoo

That is a lovely bit of work you've had done.

Is the boot in the form of a letterbox like the 4/4 Sports were ?
If so I found mine invaluable for the side screens etc.

First off, it looks great! Well done. Now I understand the windscreen pillars and the sidescreen surrounds, but I have a silly question. What is a internal boot??

Cheers,

Mark

for boot, read trunk. It's the UK/US thing again..

Yes I think you'd describe it as a letter box. The rear panel is hinged and can be removed completely. It gives me an opening of 24cm height by 28cm depth, at an angle, with the rear panel in place. Sidescreens fit perfectly. Looking now for a couple of soft bags to fit along with maybe upgrading the rear speakers and a tidy up of wires etc in the hole.

I got the trunk/boot thing, but I am used to just a shelf behind the seats with a sort of vertical panel that goes from the shelf to the rear body panel.

Are we now referring to the space behind that panel, like is shown in the last photo, behind the speakers and under the tire hole cover?? I never thought of that as usual space (as I have spare in mine).

Cheers,

Mark

The Plus8 has no room behind the plate for a spare wheel or any useful storage space. So all the electrics have been moved and a "box" has been fitted to provide the storage space.

Peter, the inside of the car behind the circular cover is unreasonably clean and tidy! Mine looked, the first time I looked, a bit different...

I have found that road muck comes in through the louvres and makes the area of the tank look "grubby".

I see from your photos that MMC continue to mount the rear speakers using a bit of wood, with no effective enclosure. I do wish they would learn even a little about audio engineering. I fitted small boxes behind the speakers, resulting in a significant sound quality improvement.

The very first Plus 8 models had a side cover storage slot as you describe. But it was a very tight fit and quickly discontinued.
