Me too. I always presumed it was the clutch. I'd assume Centa's polyurethane would smell like burning plastic!

Good news: my dealer received official confirmation today that my car has gone into build and should be completed within 10 working days. 😃
Bad news: I am abroad for 5 weeks from 13 August so I won't get to play with it until towards end of September. 🙁

From personal experience last year, notification of 'Day 1' of my build to collection from the dealer was 5-6 weeks.

So your timing could be perfect :-)

Slowly slowly..

R1NGA - Prior to replacing my Centa rubbers I sometimes had a burning smell. Often when Julia drove/manoeuvred it. I thought she was burning the clutch.....

Some parts of of my rubber fragments (possibly from the ends of the barrels) looked like they had got quite hot. Mind you, so did the clutch plates......

I suspect there are a few bits of loose rubber in there causing it, but as there is little overall debris and the car continues to drive beautifully, I am loathed to pull the sucker apart now, so close to Treffen 2017!

Moreover, my car only has 3,500 miles on it since the Centa 'upgrade', so it really hasn't had that much of a hard time as yet.

I fully appreciate that I might regret that statement when stuck by the side of the road up a mountain in Switzerland in about 3 weeks time though eek

Back to the subject of Build delays due to Euro-4.

I have ordered my M3W back on November 2016 to be delivered on May 2017. My plan was to drive from England to Nordkapp, Norway and all the way south to Marbella, Spain. Unfortunately they informed me in March 2017 there will be delay for few months until they sort out Euro-4 issues. So I had to cancel my purchase and return my deposit. I kept following this thread and the changes on the Euro-4 spec M3W which i hated very much and regretted canceling my order. Last week i called my dealer in Dubai to check is Euro-4 changes applies to our region. To my surprise the dealer sent me the photos of my Canceled purchase M3W which the factory built anyway to almost exact spec minus Heritage windscreen. I decided to re-purchase the car and have it shipped to Dubai ASAP and hopefully I do my European adventures next summer.
