I went to the (USA) National Model Railroad show yesterday here in Orlando. Amazing attention to detail, with a twinge of humor. Lots of Aligators in the swamps along the tracks (well, this is Florida after all!) Someone even modeled a Sharknado with lots of little plastic sharks flying up in a funnel cloud.

What amused me the most is the new(er) technology of LEDs and fiber optics used for lighting the trains and model cars on the layouts. I will have to try this on one of the Morgan kits I have. Lights that work on a Morgan?? Go figure!

Cheers,

Mark

I visited a show in Manchester (UK) could not believe the progression since I had one as a lad !
Diesel engines that actually churn out more smoke as it accelerates and sound the same as a real one.
Mico processors stoping and starting trains to enter the station !
And the attention to the layouts .
A particular favourite was a coal mining sidings complete with rusty old rolling stock !

I've kept mine very simple as it's not my number one passion. But with enough ££, it seems that anything is possible now.
I occasionally find some time to move my layout forward, maybe when I retire properly..........
Ballasting is mind blowingly boring!

One of these rainy winter days I'm going to have to set my model RxR up. Or when I retire. I have a nice size basement that would wore good for it.

I did find a few Morgans in HO scale. (About an 1" long.) Made by BUSCH AUTOMODELLE. They have 5 variations. I bought all five.

Cheers,

I was going to say the same from the preserved line perspective, but knew a real railway person would be along soon smile
