Not sure I'd want to go that far with 2 large bails of shavings on the back, but they were strapped down with my trusty Kanu Lock strap.

Why did I use the Mog? Because it was easier than loading up the CLC and i wanted to drive the Plus 8...

No problem at all. This is mine with three weeks' luggage for two of us on board.

Hills Alive cases are great. We can get 2 weeks worth in no problem with no case on the back

Very good. I'm desperately trying to keep Mrs Trevini from seeing this photo in case it gives her ideas about "popping down to the horses for a bit" in the forthcoming Mog and not the 4x4.

Mrs J has a Mercedes 4x4...

Sort of....

AMG C43
Useless load carrier.
The saddle only just goes in the boot, 2 bags of feed, no more, so we have an old CLC 180 Hatchback.

But the performance and the noise...

That's a nice looking car there Peter. the colour really suits it. We ran Range Rovers for years for lugging (mainly horsey) stuff about, but more recently, an old Suzuki Jimmy with the rear seats removed get's all of her tack inside and is much easier to turn around on the dead end track where we keep the horses. It's truly one of the worst cars I've ever driven, but gets the job done, so it'll stay for the time being.

Only one horse, DIY livery yard a mile away.

A 15.1 Connemara by the name of Merlin Grey Shadow. Loverly chap, don't ride but very happy to handle him. Wife and daughter ride.

Thanks for the comment about her gar, never allowed to forget it! Amazingly on a long run 35mpg is possible, but so is 15.... evil
It is quicker than the Plus 8, in all honesty.

It's not always about out and out performance though, is it? There are plenty of faster cars than my Maserati out there, but that doesn't detract from it's appeal. Worst I got from the Maser economy wise was running around Bruntingthorpe a couple of years back. Managed to get it down to 58 miles on half a tank :-) Sensible driving average is around 20 with a slight improvement at steady european motorway speeds.

I don't ride either, mainly just my wife, her sister and one of our nieces. I just get roped in to helping out now and again.
