If you can remove your rose tinted glasses, what future do you see for MMC as we move into the electrical future?

Hitherto they have survived making what some on here have called "Classics with reliable modern engines". The styling is 1940s in the main and the chassis is arguably earlier than that. Problem is that a Trad with an electric motor would be incongruous to say the least. Plus the component suppliers relied on for things like back axles will likely close down.

Do you see demand for an electric Trad?

Well obviously MMC think there's a long-term future for them, and presumably so does HM Government since they coughed up 6 million quid for them to develop electric/hybrid future drive trains.

Given that Morgans are 1930's cars with modern engines, I see not issue at all with fitting them with electric or hybrid motors. I can see various options being available - all-electric high performance/short range, or longer range/lower performance hybrids.

Time to develop a proper modern car that retains the trad look.

Drop the antiquated suspension, retain an element of coach building and hey-presto.

Even the die-hards will have to admit that an electric car is no longer the 1930's driving experience. Not that the current car is anyway.

In fact why not do it now and give the old petrol driven trad the chassis it deserves before it's phased out ?

I hope they do survive ( even if I'm not here to see it ) but an all electric Trad Moggie, I think not. What would be the point?

Agree

Don't see what the difference is

A Morgan can be powered by whatever is the appropriate power plant of the time

Car engines could develop beyond electric in just a few years time

An engine might run on oats or raisins or hydrogen or elastic bands, who knows

Morgan cars are basically are open sports cars with vintage styling, the engine can be anything

A Tesla still looks and drives like a modern tin top so why can't an electric trad Morgan still be a Morgan sports car

They are not the only independent British motor production company for no reason, they have proved time and again that they can adapt with legislation. They will be around long after we have departed this area !

It's just howard having another little Morgan stir stirpot thumbs.

It will be interesting to see if the Black Aero8 that crashed in Malvern was a super quick electric developmental one ?
