Roady,
+1, my S1 with now 24.5k miles on the clock is great. Yesterday driving to Corby was a joy. Either as a sedate tourer or when needed a very fast road car to overtake lorries etc on single carriage ways.

I wonder if there is a benefit to be had by changing the filter on the Escape engine?

Yes, I have the Williams ECU upgrade plus an ITG airfilter. Completely unscientifically, I changed two parameters at once, so I can only attest to the combined effect, which I love an recommend. What should not be underestimated is the effect the filter has on the sound, nice! I recently installed John Taylor bonnet hooks, they open up the bonnet a bit at the bulkhead side. This was my experiment to get more airflow around the filter. I "think" it helps a bit, but no hard facts. Having said that, feelings are facts...
Cheers,
Bert

Thanks to everyone who's responded to my post, and it's confirmed my thinking that a 3.7 is the way to go for me, as any possible shortcomings they may have can seemingly be overcome. Except for that dash, apparently.
I've asked Morgan if it's possible at all to modify it in such a way to make it more suitable for us here in the UK who drive on the correct side of the road but they've chosen not to acknowledge or reply to my query so I can only assume there is no alternative, which is a shame, on both counts. (i.e. their lack of any response, and that it seems there's no other layout option).

It would appear that several of you folks don't keep your Roadsters very long! I'd be interested to know the reasons. Did you bend them?! Did you just sell them on as an alternative investment? Did they just satisfy a temporary itch? Did the Other Half keep nagging at you to slow down, I wonder? (I think mine might).

Now to fire off a few emails to dealers to see if they've got any prospective Roadsters coming in, and to post a 'Wanted' ad in Miscellany...

P.S. Adrian - I hope the 'Wells Wingliners' that you were going to fit to your +8 worked OK!

My Roadster was a gateway drug to an Aero +8. It certainly wasn't an investment - I lost £25k on the trade in.

On 30th August I've had my S1 for nine years and I still love it.

Arguably the best car we've ever had.

I too think the Roadster is a great Morgan.

I have only ever driven the 3.7

Best of all worlds really as you can cruise so easily - and yet have bags of power/speed if you want it.

The acid test is would I have another one - Answer ...of course!!

Yes...why did I sell my 3.7???!!!

Happy with my 4/4 now:))
