Hello, prospective owner of S1 Aero 8, I would be looking for advice on purchasing (feel free to point me out to existing threads) and knowledge of good cars available? Have only spotted 3-4 cars at the moment in the UK.
Thanks much!

Lots of UK RHD cars ahve gone to the continent - mine did and I know of a few others that have, so if you want to extend your search you may well find cars for sale in Europe too.
however, there are never many for sale at one time, so best thing to do is probably speak to a few dealers (check the MMC website and see there who is selling what and which dealers are close) and put the word out you're looking for a car..
-------------- Maxxed out!

Take your time and drive them to learn your way around them. They changed a lot from year to year so go on history, paperwork, condition and money spent already.
I spent 7 months hunting down my MkII and it was well worth it.
Some of the typical S1 areas to watch for include Warped brakes Rubbers on hood drying out Seal around the windscreen hood needing replacement Air Con not working anymore Tyre pressure sensors needing reconfiguration Alloys are scarce and expensive so don't "allow" for some damage
You will have some stuff that needs doing, even mine did and it was an 05/55 with 11,000 on the clock. Just make certain you don't jump on the first car you like as they are all fun and it is easy.
Depending on what you have driven before and your personal style watch for the tight gap between door and steering wheel the first time you need opposite lock (wet/diesel/fun) as it gets a bit tight.
Later S1 cars had a lot of these issues worked out, different door cards, roof with clip latches instead of wooden bar, improved interior.
My choice would to go for a car with a few miles on it which has been upgraded and had money spent on it. Either way you will find a completely new approach to motoring ahead, welcome to the big smile club.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Thanks a lot for the quick reply! Does the S1 (which I understand has rose-jointed suspension and so can be easily set up for track work) require any upgrades (besides sticky tyres) for trackdays?
My plan for the S1 is to use it for touring and include track days in the mix.
Thanks for your views.

Thank you all for the informative replies and PMs. I have just bought a gorgeous S1--cerealsurfer's car.
I saw a few, but this one was truly spectacular, in a league of its own!
