I think my Aero battery is slowly giving up so I want to replace it with a heavier duty one, the current one is 58AH and 450A.
Can anyone recommend a good quality battery that will fit but of a higher capacity the the current one?

Battery ideally should be matched to the alternator.

Turning off the current vampyre in the MORGAN odd electrics will make the battery last longer when idle.

Hi Michael, I had the same problem with the battery only lasting a couple of years but after isolating the car - which I believe Mark is referring to -if I know I wont be using it for at least another week the battery has now lasted over 5 years. I don't know if you are familiar with the isolator and I am struggling to upload a photo !!

You don't have a switch inside the bonnet on the engine to switch off the electrics as in the 4.8 Aero engine ?

I always leave mine plugged into a battery conditioner unless I'm going to be driving it the next day

I do have a red isolator switch on my S4 in the engine bay but I don't want to use that as I then have to reset windows when powered back on, I keep all my cars on a ctek but my battery drains quite quickly if not used and I am planing trips where we won't have access to charging and in the autumn stood in hotel car parks may test the battery.
My thinking is not the overall life of the battery but how long it takes to drain it and so a heavier duty battery seems one possible solution.

The battery in Tarka is from mid 2013, according to the sticker. It will last for about 2 weeks without the trickle charger, but if the radio is left on the battery goes flat over night.

How do I know this, yes, I found out the hard way.....

As has been said, a larger battery, if beyond the capacity of the alternator, won't help.

A trickle charger is the cheapest solution, I feel.
