Hello, Eximius reporting in. Very new to this forum and on the hunt for a Plus 8.

Currently London based but planning to move abroad within the next two years.

As car ownership becomes evermore restrictive this may almost be the last opportunity to own a proper V8 before we all have to bow down to the self-driving car world.

Will put up a thread or two asking for advice and look forward to meeting everybody, whether in person, or via the forum.

I have seen quite a number of advertisements from them.

What is the general consensus regarding their operation?

If its of interest I know the owner of the +8 at Allon Whites and can assure you its been maintained immaculately and regardless of expense. Its a well known and totally reliable car.

New Elms have a +8 with 4500 miles on the clock. looks like a new car.

Nowadays you need to specify whether you mean a trad +8 , or an Aero chassied model , as both cars carry the +8 name. Assuming it is the former, have a look around at the two cars mentioned above, but also have a look at the other good dealers like BHM (easily accessible from London) and the ex-race car at Techniques . Good cars still come up quite regularly.

I live in SE London so feel free to pop in and have a look at my car , and I will explain some of the points to look for when inspecting +8s .

Light coloured interiors are not very practical in open cars
One reason I decided against asking about a 4 seater 4/4 at Allon White. The other was that it's black (after 3 black cars in a row - all non-Morgan - I said I'd never own another black car).
I mentioned the car Colin (Spanner Juggler) has commented on for the same reasons he has stated.
