Day 4 A great day exploring a little bit of the Cantabria coast. We visited the Gaudi designed house known as Il Capricio in Comillas and then went on to have an excellent seafood lunch, including more crab than on could reasonably eat (but when it comes to crab ) on a terrace overlooking a small beach at Hotel Sanmar at Playa De Luana. After a walk on the beach we then went to the ancient town of Santillana del Mar before returning along the excellent coastal road to our hotel. Tomorrow we head away from the coast and up into the mountains so having had a seafood feast lasting two days who knows wha culinary delights we will find at our next stop.

Now in an anonymous motel type place just south of Zaragoza, not particularly by choice, but it will do. Crossed the Pyrenees via the El Coll de Portilló and not a copy of Bradshaw's guide to be seen. had a great fun run up and over the col on the tail of a Z4 coupe who was a little surprised that I kept catching him up on the corners.  Then some superb roads and an excellent lunch, through Bonansa and various other places before joining the Autovia to Zaragoza where I hit the actual rush hour and then the escape south button, hence the motel in the middle of nowhere.   and tonight's view from a hotel window;

Wow..! You're both having great trips, albeit completely different, and I am very envious...it was warm here but raining at times.. Fantastic to read about your progress and share the excitement with you both.

A few photos taken along the way. The best are probably on the camera but we don't have any way of downloading them till we get home. These are mainly from Alis's phone Raphael and Peter ready for the off. Club Golf Pont Royal L'Hostellerie des Cèdres at Villeneuve de Riviere Rain threatens! Alis meets Gaudi I can imagine worse places to have lunch

Don't forget the adoration from the watching crowds when you get there, chaps. We almost lost poor Ian..!

After last night's dull motel, am now safely ensconced in some serious luxury in central Madrid. Only gap in the service so far was I had to park the car myself as the valet parking man wasn't convinced... Off to the Flamenco tonight for some culture.

Reminds me of when Caron and me went to Gibraltar from Calais many moons ago on a motorbike. Really want to do that trip in the Morgan but it's going to take some working on! Going to do some walking in the Pyrenees next week but taking the motorhome and not the Morgan. Gnash!
