£80k sounds like someone has had a bargain. Did he? Or did he just pay the market price? Seems to me that there are two price levels for any car such as these. One is the auction price / dealer trade price / owner selling price and the other is the dealer asking price / advertised price with the difference being the dealer profit margin plus the dealer negotiation margin. In this case whoever bought it got the price that all the dealers and interested individuals who were in the market thought it was worth on the day. Many private individuals will pay a dealer selling price for the comfort blanket they think that offers and in this case it likely would be 20k higher.

Auctions add 10/15% commission and then VAT on top of that!
So this car could finally be £95/95K if the £80 is pre costs.

That's addictive viewing - I love the drama of an auction. The slow start to the AeroMax bidding before the two telephone bidders came in meant that the guy in the front probably thought he was going to get it for £40,000 !!
