Its a strange market at the moment: some models instantly achieving crazy prices while others seem very slow to sell and i wonld
include the aero's in this group.

Having just watched the video it struggled to make £80k where as the porsche 964 turbo sold for £230k in a rapid pace.

& the porkers before & after went for far more, with a lot less work from the auctioneer... you pays yer money... crazy2

Maybe the market knows they are a "watertight" investment as well as leak proof..

AeroMax registration number AR09 MAX was sold recently by a southern Dealer for £165K, so as Asbojohn says it seems someone got a bargain! happy3

Funny, the same car before the summer to sale à DPM Motors Monaco, 205.000€ ... and finally sold at 87.600€ H.T.

We need to wait to see on the RM auction website how much they take for the auction rights (I do not know the English word). Usually is 15%. Still half of the price that DPM motors has dreamt.

I was at the auction (in the front row no less) and I can confirm the following:

- there was no free fizz available (unlike previous years)

- the room was rather slow, with many lots not meeting reserve

- some of the no-reserve cars went for much less than their estimate (the exception was the 'Spectre' Defender - wow!)

- buyers premium is 15%+VAT (on lots below £200k). By the time you've paid the storage and transports costs you may as well add a flat 20% to the hammer price.

- some cars are bought by dealers, some by individuals. To say that the price paid at an auction like this is 'trade' is to over-simplify it greatly. Many cars are sold for retail prices.

- the AeroMax looked great going across the stage laugh

if GBP80k is before buyers premium, then the seller probably got circa GBP65-68k if you take into account sellers fees of around 15%, vat on fees, and any transportation costs.

I'd rather have bought that car that than spend £92k on a new S5.....
