i woke up this morning to hear the news about the Cutty Sark  what a shame. while it will not make the situation different i do hope it isn't arson as the bbc are speculating. i hope they can restore it

I agree Nick, it is a real shame. We have few remnants of our proud naval past left and it would be a tragedy to loose the Cutty Sark.

I agree Nick, it is a real shame. We have few remnants of our proud naval past left and it would be a tragedy to loose the Cutty Sark. Why would anyone one to set fire to this icon from the past? Luckily, I have just heard on the news that some 60% of it was in storage and thus it was only 40% that was badly damaged by fire. Let's hope they can make good.

If they find out that the fire has been started intentionally, I hope they also catch the buggers.
