Now checked in at Santander ferry terminal after an epic day in the Picos de Europa. Boat's delayed by 3 hours due to weather so off for a beer.
Passed 3000 miles for the trip today just after hitting 30,000 miles overall.

We are staying at a small hotel in the middle of nowhere not far from the sea and just up the road from where the instigator of the Barcelona terrorist attack managed to blow himself up along with several of his disciples. Apparently the explosion was heard from the hotel.
Managed to do some tourist stuff, buy a few bottles of wine, and have a breif dip in a warm but turbulent sea before eating a fabulous fish meal at the local fishing port.
The car is packed and ready to go. Tomorrow we have a 2 hour run to Barcellona to catch the ferry to Genoa and thence home.

We were rudely woken at 2am by a Highland Raider entering our cottage, looking no doubt for sheep to steal and a place to sleep.
He claimed to have traveled from afar, he arrived not on on foot or even a pony, but a strange, noisy red mechanical device...clearly the work of the Devil!
We showed him to the hayloft, where he could sleep in the warmth, before sending him on his way back to the frozen north.

lol, 2 AM? Was he still holding a bottle of Single Malt, Broken Chassis Edition? Sadly not! Mind you, not sure that drinking at 2am is a good idea, unless of course, one has not gone to bed! Now he has gone, leaving daughter un-ravished, animals all present and correct and no disorder. Was he really there or did i imagine the visitation?

It's all true and what a lovely barn Peter and Caroline have. En-suite well with hardly any ice on it. Sheer bloody luxury, when I were a lad etc...
Also, what's all this about terrible traffic down here? Hardly anyone on the road from Plymouth to Salisbury at all.
