2 years after Richard Thorne fitted electronic power steering for plus 8, has been an excellent decision until drive back from LMC on Monday. During heavy rain and generous ingress of water into cockpit (as hood was down) the power steering started to cut in and out repeatedly. This made turning the car at lower speeds interesting. Not so bad at high speed as p steering not active much above 30 mph. Car is about to be returned to RTCC for diagnosis and hopefully treatment.

LMC was very good, my 1st morgan event

That sounds like water in the electrics. A neoprene shield might help...... innocent

Good idea, will post the RTCC diagnosis (and hopefully solution) once they have reviewed.

Until now, it has been a good thing and I was glad to have had it fitted. I guess water and electrics don't go well together

Richard Thorne have now sorted this at no cost. The problem, as predicted was water ingress via the engine bay onto the electronics around the steering column within the drivers' footwell.

All that was required was extra sealant around additional holes they had drilled plus around the usual suspects that come as "factory standard". have driven in the rain since and all is well.
