A mere 13 miles today. The DonMog car trial is only a 5 mile round trip so that makes 8 miles off road - although some of this will be accounted for by wheel spin. The weather was nearly kind too. And I got a good score.

So we had a little sojourn with Merlin in London today. Starting at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, an oasis of calm in the bustling metropolis, we made a reconnaissance for Frederick’s next trip around London (1/3rd scale showman’s steam road locomotive). The route we have chosen is feasible, but there are a few logistical details yet to fall in place. I’ll post in Malvern Arms when everything is firmed up. In France sans Morgan but researching mog roads and potential places to rest our weary heads in retirement. Had a great run from Samatan (Gers) to Bordeaux on mainly D but also smaller roads with wonderful rural landscapes and tourist free villages - not counting us of course. There was very little traffic (until nearing Bordeaux) but the few that were out were out to kill e.g. white vans on blind bends wanting our side of the road as well as theirs. Don't relax for a second! Settled in La Rochelle for a few days - classic yacht heaven - and finally getting to grips with the new photo uploading. Thanks to Peter and other TM'ers involved. So let's see if this works. A shot from a rally earlier in the year. My navigator was making his debut but learnt quickly and we had a fantastic 100 mile day. I like this shot. We were running late and pushing on.

Does pushing count?? Pushed the 1986 Plus 8 out of the maintenance bay to allow the 2005 Roadster in. Misc preventative maintenance on the Roadster prior to a road trip later in the week. Roadster driven out, pushed the 1934 MX4 into the maintenance bay. Worked starter alignment issues. Fixed. Intermittent starting. Still need to improve fuel flow. Possible junk in the trunk, I mean fuel tank. Damn car doesn't even have a trunk.
Cheers,
Mark

Cheers, Only elephants have trunks , no? and if pushing counts I must have clocked up hundreds of miles. Every time I need to work on anything in my little garage it necessitates shoving the car out. Enjoy your road trip!

My car is currently with Cain for king pins and bushes + new CR6ZZ tyres. I am in the Isle of Skye in the worst of weather and to cap it all the mains water has suffered a huge leak over night which the water board cannot find......so no water in the village and from what I've seen of the place so far I really don't know why people rave over it . The scenery in the West country is far better

Went to the factory with SwanMog for a tour. Despite grey skies it was a dry drive & great fun.
Will post some photos once I get the new lap top working well.
