I finished cleaning the 4/4 in the Devon sunshine, then went for a drive across Woodbury Common and back via Budleigh. Gorgeous afternoon; clear blue sky and crisp Autumn air. One of my favourite times of the year.

One of my favourite times of the year. Had a lovely drive out last night in the Mog but today’s been terrible weather up ‘ere I've forgotten what a blue sky looks like

So far this week, Tuesday - Drive out for lunch at Welford, (M4/A34 most of the way, so boring). Wednesday night, curry in Liss (following suggestion from TMer), and splendid drive home in the moonlight . A3006 most of the way, nothing on the road, visablity splendid, shame when I got home Might have to miss the ThamesMOG niggin' tonight, but Richard Thorne's on Saturday - subject to weather.

Out again today, albeit only a relatively short journey to the petrol station. Returned home along the sea-front in the sunshine. About 20% cloud cover today, but plan to head out with Susie later to a nice village pub. Hood down, well wrapped up, heater on full blast. Harvest moon tonight. Perfect

Cracking coastal run today in shirt sleeves, shorts and flat cap perfect weather about 17C clear roads all the grockles have gone home now. Just a few "Turkey and Tinsel " coaches full of wrinklies around now. Last night we had The Royalist in.

I drove my 4/4 up to Gréolières in the Alpes-Maritimes today and had an inexpensive but rather good lunch with one of my more eccentric friends. I was obliged to stop and wait for about 10 minutes on the way because the most spectacular section of road (which must have appeared in as many films as Longcross has in British TV series, such as The Avengers) had been temporarily closed off for filming some action scenes for the next Johnny Rotten English film. They had a Fire Engine Red 1980s Aston Vantage, a black current (not blackcurrant) 911 Turbo, presumably for the villains, and the obligatory Deux Chevaux, parce que c'est la France, n’est-ce pas? I was told that the pretentious bounder Rowan Mr Bean Atkinson was not present in the area, which improved my enjoyment of lunch. It was a super drive on dry roads with very little traffic, splendid Alpine scenery, a large herd of bison (yes, really). I forgot to take any photos. Perhaps I should rectify that next time.

Meanwhile, here is someone else's GoPro video of the descent to Gréolières: https://youtu.be/awn-BpcnlBs
